Balboa Park Proposal!

What an exciting day I had! John asked me to be apart of his romantic plan of proposing to his girlfriend, Melissa, in front of the Botanical Building in Balboa Park! These things always get me so anxious, but excited! The plan was to take Melissa out for a picnic, and what a perfect day to do so. Balboa Park is always bustling with people and craft fairs on weekends, along with lively street artists and tourists. While walking around the couple, and trying NOT to be noticed by Melissa, I happened to find a sign that claimed the Botanical Building is the most photographed spot in all of San Diego! How fitting! With the beautiful architecture and coy fish ponds, spotted with lilly pads and turtles, this was surely the perfect spot. Well played, John. Once the time was right, John and I gave each other a nod from afar, and he stood Melissa up, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. She said YES!! Congrats to you two!

Holidays Family Photos are coming up!

That’s right! Summer time JUST ended and all the mall’s and shopping centers are ready to sell you their Christmas gift ideas! Truly, I am one of those people that believe you shouldn’t celebrate one Holiday before another (i.e. putting Christmas lights up BEFORE Thanksgiving!), BUT, when it comes to getting your family photo taken for your Holiday cards…..it makes sense. So the early bird catches the worm! The first three families to book their Holiday sessions get a special $25 off! (Usual starting price of $175). This includes an hour of photography and all of your edited images on a downloadable gallery. HolidayPortraitPromo

“Under the Boardwalk”…Literally!

Under the boardwalk….down by the sea…..

So happy to share this family session! I have been with this family for the past 2+ years watching these kiddos sprout from the ground like weeds. Seriously, they are growing up so fast I can’t keep up! When I met Tomas, I was taller than HIM! Still in denial about that fact, I’m hoping next in line, Isabel, isn’t too close behind. Just like their parents, I want them to be young little angels forever. I consider them my younger siblings and they look up to me as an older sister. Just like all siblings, these three are very unique from each other. They have their own personalities and roles in the family. The may disagree on a lot, but at the end of the day they will ALWAYS tell each other how much they love one another.

They are so fortunate to have the parents that they do, and they acknowledge that! They confide in them, take comfort with them, and learn from them. In one of the last pictures, you can see how Isabel wants to be just like Mom, be standing on her tippy-toes to be her equal.

The day ended in typical fashion; “Can I do a cartwheel!?!?”, Elena’s signature move. Love them all!
