Kelly and Ryan’s Rancho Beuna Vista Adobe Wedding

Kelly and Ryan were such an easy couple to be with on their wedding day! When two people are so comfortable with each other and so incredibly in love, it sure does make my job a piece of cake! Ryan became noticeably different the moment he saw Kelly coming down the aisle. The few hours leading up to the ceremony, Ryan was definitely anxious. Kelly and the girls were running a bit late, while Ryan was ready a good hour an a half before her! Originally the bride and groom had a “first look” planned, but even with a delayed start, the show must go on and they had to see each other for the first time down the aisle instead! After that, the night was smooth sailing with some of the most adorable couple shots I have seen in awhile! Then they danced the night away to happily ever after. KellyRyan-1KellyRyan-2KellyRyan-3KellyRyan-4KellyRyan-9KellyRyan-17KellyRyan-16KellyRyan-19KellyRyan-20KellyRyan-21KellyRyan-22KellyRyan-24KellyRyan-25KellyRyan-26KellyRyan-27KellyRyan-63KellyRyan-28KellyRyan-29KellyRyan-6KellyRyan-33KellyRyan-14KellyRyan-11KellyRyan-12KellyRyan-10KellyRyan-18KellyRyan-13KellyRyan-31KellyRyan-62KellyRyan-36KellyRyan-35KellyRyan-34KellyRyan-38KellyRyan-39KellyRyan-42KellyRyan-40KellyRyan-41KellyRyan-50KellyRyan-52KellyRyan-54KellyRyan-53KellyRyan-55KellyRyan-58KellyRyan-51KellyRyan-43KellyRyan-46KellyRyan-47KellyRyan-48KellyRyan-49

Hzeman - Amazing and beautiful photographs Shelly.

Why I love San Diego…

Lately, I have been biking a lot on the bay in San Diego. The bay is often overlooked and not as ‘popular’ as the beach, which is something I just don’t agree with! The bay is much quieter than the beach, less crowded, and has the BEST bike path. Brett calls it “the boardwalk less traveled.” During my usual bike route, I have been noticing so many photo locations that I have been dying to take someone to!  I started developing this great ‘photo journey’ and needed someone to do it with ASAP. In walks my friend Sarah, and her boyfriend Alex. We spent an entire evening on our bikes and going to all of these spots I found. This photo session pretty much sums up all of the reasons I am glad I moved to San Diego. Beach, sun, palm tress, ice cream, bikes, the pier….San Diego has so many different flavors and personalities. We traveled from the bay all the way to the boardwalk where things definitely spiced up. We made a quick pit stop for some ice cream, and made it just in time for the sunset at the pier!sa1sa2sa3sa4sa5sa7sa6sa8sa9sa10sa11sa12sa13sa15sa16sa17sa18sa19sa20sa21sa22sa23sa24sa25sa26sa27sa28sa29sa30sa31sa32sa33sa34sa35sa36sa37sa38sa39sa40sa41sa43

Ara Miralles - Love the one under the Pier!

Three generations, one love.

Love is what makes a family, and this family has an abundance of that. I have known Laura and her beautiful children for some time now (more swim students of mine!), and have since met her two adoring parents. She is a lucky woman to have two amazing people on each side of the generation spectrum from her! Cody and Sophia are totally spoiled with love and hugs from their grandparents, which only makes me miss my equally amazing grandmother back in NY!

Grandparents are a special kind of parent. They get to reflect on their own children how their parenting skills have molded a child into a well rounded adult, who then decides how to raise their OWN children using the knowledge and experiences you have provided for them. Their love is unconditional and full of pride and accomplishment. What a lucky, lovely family!
