Monterey Wedding | Samantha + Dan

SamDanWeddingBlog-91

Ah! I was so honored to be a part of Samantha and Dan’s big day up in Northern California 🙂 They are two of the sweetest people in the world and are so natural with each other. Their day was absolutely perfect! A little more about this duo;

Dan & Sam met their Sophomore year as Aggies at the University of California Davis. Dan was in a fraternity and Sam played on the club softball team. The two met in December at an exchange (a party between the frat and softball team), where the theme required you to dress in costume as something that began with the letter “s”: Dan was a swimmer, Sam was Santa. Sam gave Dan sass for his lack of trying costume. After a few texts, Dan and Sam enjoyed their first date over Burgers & Brew and bowling (where Sam’s competitive side came on a bit strong), dated, spent some time as friends, and a year later found each other again (with a second “first date” at Burgers & Brew). Dan was attracted to Sam’s sense of humor and Sam was drawn to Dan’s big heart. Nearly seven years later, the two have been calling each other by the nickname “bro” ever since.

With Sam nearly impossible to surprise, Dan proposed on a Friday evening in May alongside Ocean Beach outside the Cliff House in San Francisco. The couple lived within a couple miles of the restaurant, but had never made it out there to try. Knowing it was on the couple’s “must-visit” list of places to sample before making the move to Los Angeles for Dan’s entrance into Physician Assistant School, Dan formed a plan. He enlisted the help of now Best Man, Blake, as a freelance photographer. As Dan drove him and Sam to the site carefully mapped out by Dan and Blake using Google Earth weeks in advance, Sam was casually rapping Drake songs excited for the weekend and unaware of the evening ahead. Dan led her down the path behind the restaurant, looking out over a rare sunny view of the west side of the peninsula. As Dan got down on one knee, and made the ask through teary eyes, a shocked and surprised Sam said, “Yes!.” Sam was so in shock that she kept repeatedly asking, “Is this real?!”.

Oh yes it was! Congrats again you two!!! <3

Napa Winery Engagement | Angela + Howard

AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-51

Anglea and Howard are getting married in Hawaii! But first, a glass of wine.

These two have known each other for YEARS. It wasn’t until recently though that they realized that their friendship was a little something more than that. How they didn’t realize that sooner is beyond me, because as soon as I met these two it was obvious how perfect they are for each other! They have a very strong connection, and I loved hanging out with them at their friends’ wineries! We started the day in the wine cellar, along with a nice robust glass of cab. We then walked around the vineyards, picking off grapes from the vines as we went along! We finished the day with a perfect Napa sunset and just sat and chatted about how beautiful the area was. I also got to hear about their honeymoon plans and I’m SO jelly! Congrats again you two!!!AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-1AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-2AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-3AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-4AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-6AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-5AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-7AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-8AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-9AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-10AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-11AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-12AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-13AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-14AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-15AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-16AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-17AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-18AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-19AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-21AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-20AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-22AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-23AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-24AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-26AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-28AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-27AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-29AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-30AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-31AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-32AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-34AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-36AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-37AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-38AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-39AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-40AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-41AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-43AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-42AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-45AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-44AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-47AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-48AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-50AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-51AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-52AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-53AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-55AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-56AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-57AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-58AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-59AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-60AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-61AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-62AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-64AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-65AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-66AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-68AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-69AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-70AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-71AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-73AngelaHowardEngagementBlog-74

Estancia La Jolla Vegan Wedding | Emmy + Gavin

EmmyGavinWeddingBlog-105

Pros and cons of a long engagement. Pro…the anticipation….Con….THE ANTICIPATION! But when the big day comes it is more than worth the wait. As was the case with these two! I love Emmy’s style, and there have been mulitple times we would message each other with “hey I have the same shoes!” and so on. I was also just so excited to hang out with them again on their wedding day! The couple met back east in college. They were actually set up! While Gavin was in the Naval Academy, Emmy was studying at Marymount University. For the Navy dance, Gavin asked his friends to suggest a great date for him. Enter Emmy. They met before the dance, and really hit it off. She went as his date, and the next day Gavin officially asked Emmy out.

Oh but it gets better. On their visit to Peru, the couple went to hike Machu Picchu. At the very top, over looking the beautiful ruins and llamas, Gavin got down on one knee and proposed to Emmy. The best part was that their friends and family were there for it too! It was out of a fairy tale.

For their wedding day, Emmy, a relaxed bride, slipped on her Bob Ross socks and blue converse, and went to go see her groom for the first time. Gavin turned around and had a HUGE smile on his face! They said “I do” in front of family and guests at the Estancia La Jolla, and then the party began. There was “pong” and “flip cup” with giant cups in the lawn, as well as corn-hole. The guests were served vegan appetizers, since the wedding was a all vegan wedding. Guests then welcomed the new Mr. and Mrs. and dined on some more vegan grub, including vegan donuts from Nomad’s! Yum! It was a lovely wedding and am so happy I got to play a part in it. Congrats again you two!!
