San Diego Zoo Safari Park Wedding | Katrina + Hunter

KatrinaHunterWeddingBlog-167

Katrina and Hunter had a wedding that perfectly fit their personalities and their styles. These two like to do things their way, and their ceremony was a reflection on that! After escorting each other down the aisle and after saying “I do”, they DANCED their way out as a married couple! One of my favorite personal touches of their day was the Board Game table; filled with unique and quirky games for their guests to play during cocktail hour and reception. They even put on a show for their guests with an animal encounter that the safari park helps put together for you. Their cake was a unique cake that they cut into, (since Katrina doesn’t like traditional cake!). I also love how Hunter proposed to Katrina;

“We were in New Orleans and on the first night of our trip we went to a restaurant called Bayona which had amazing food like veal sweetbreads and seared Duck Breast, Hunter wanted to surprise me because we had a reservation for Arnaud’s the following night (which is a fancier restaurant so he thought I would expect him to propose then) he wanted to wait until most people were gone and he was so nervous he kept grabbing my hand and talking about our life together 🙂 Then he finally got down on one knee and proposed with a beautiful vintage ring from the 20’s (which I had picked haha) and of course I said yes! Then we ordered champagne and our server noticed and so they sent us out an amazing peanut butter and jelly cake which was amazing! (especially since I don’t really like cake!) It was a wonderful night!

Congrats to you two!!!

Coronado Beach Engagement | Marina and Marcus

MarinaMarcusEngagementBlog-48

Bentley the cockapoo’s parents are getting married!!! Marina and Marcus are so cute! They asked if they could meet me (and their pup) in Coronado for their engagement session. We first stopped over in Centennial Park to take a look at the San Diego skyline from across the water. Bentley showed off his “sitting pretty” trick to me, and I loved it! We then ventured over across the island near the Hotel Del beach front. Since it was mid week, we had the majority of the beach to ourselves!! We also had a perfect late summer sunset that this city is quite famous for. The two snuggled in the sand and chased each other down the beach. They can’t wait to get married next year!! Congrats again you two!

Fun and quirky engagement session in Palm Springs | Lizzy + Jeff

LizzyJeffEngagementBlog-23

I love being at the age when all of my friends are getting engaged and married. Every year a few more are added to the list and I get the honor to photograph them 🙂 When Lizzy and Jeff called me up and told me they wanted me to capture their personalities, a few ideas came to my head. Jeff actually went to college with my fiancé, and also moved to the west coast. He met Lizzy through yet another one of their college friends, so our group just keeps getting bigger! We decided to make it a “double-date” weekend in Palm Springs. We spent the night together and woke up in the morning and took some photos of the couple in their hotel robes! Which, is actually kind of fitting, since Jeff proposed to Lizzy while she was in a hotel robe! Since Palm Springs is HOT, even in late summer, we decided to keep most of the shoot indoors, which wouldn’t be hard to do with all of the funky and retro resorts in the area! We basically hotel hopped, while socializing over some drinks at the resort bars to keep cool! Once the sun started to go down, we headed out to the windmills for some fun glowy sunset light. We then hung out by the pool late night, and had a casual brunch in the morning. So fun hanging with you two! This shoot was so you!! Congrats!!
